1940 Proof Set

Proof set production climbed a bit in 1940, exceeding 10,000 sets for the first time. While the Cent again remains the barrier to a full set in PR68, the overall available quality remains good, with ample supplies of PR67 pieces on the market. Few 20th century coins can compare in beauty with a Proof Walking Liberty Half, and for that reason alone, this Proof Set should be high on the list of goals for Set Registry participants.
