The Eliasberg “with varieties” half cent set was very high quality. Many of the coins were Choice to Gem uncirculated. The highlight is the incredible 1796 subsequently graded MS67RB by PCGS. It brought a record setting $506,000 at the 1996 Eliasberg sale. The set was not quite complete as some varieties we recognize today were not known to numismatists in Eliasberg’s day. Nonetheless, this is a very nice set.
