关于此套币: 1970 was the first year the Royal Australian Mint issued a commemorative 50C coin. The coin was issued to commemorate the bicentenary of the voyage of Captain Cook, the famous British navigator who is credited with the European discovery of many parts of Australia. It features an image of Captain Cook overlaid on a map of those parts of Australia along with the voyage that he took around Australia. The design was created by Stuart Devlin who also created the reverse images on all of the other coins in this set, namely the feathertail glider on the 1C coin, the frillneck lizard on the 2C coin, the echidna on the 5C coin, the lyre bird on the 10C coin and the platypus on the 20C coin. The obverse for all coins features the Arnold Machin portrait of Queen Elizabeth II. As of 17 March 2019, PR69DCAM is the highest grade achieved for all the coins in this set.
