******DID YOU KNOW****** There are 74 $2 coins with a LOWER Mintage than the 2012 Red Poppy? The lowest Mintage $2 coin is actually the 2017/18/19 Gold proof with only 50 made each year. The only year that a $2 coin has not been made for circulation is 1991 - it can be found in Mint or Proof sets Only. The 2017 Mars $2 has the lowest mintage of any Coloured $2. The lowest mintage $2 coin not made of Gold or Silver with only 1988 made is the 2018 S, M & 3 coin proof set. The 2013 Coronation has the lowest mintage of any $2 made for Circulation. (there is a Poll on weather The 2012 Red poppy was made to be sold as a collectable coin through the RSL and wasn't ment to circulate in change). The 2012 C Mint marked Red Poppy has the Highest Mintage of C Mint marked coins - The 2015 "poppy" mintmark is the Lowest!
Basically silver proof $2 were made in 1988 and 1991. Then reintroduced from 2003 to 2022. In 2016, 2c was produced rather than $2
