A beautiful example of a popular series. (O-103) Very original and probably kept in an album around the midcentury, the peripheries are toned with vivid tawny hues that open up to faint cobalt gracing the slate-grey fields closest to the relief. Original mint luster dances around the stars when rotated under the light. Surfaces are smooth, with only the faintest handling marks. More than appropriate for the assigned grade. A deep mark at 10 o'clock on the obverse is noted for accuracy.

A lovely choice proof, this seated half dollar borders on the Gem level with nearly flawless surfaces. Evenly mirrored fields frame the lustrous, sharply defined devices of this exceptional example that features pleasing blue and iridescent toning.
