Shopping online unfortunately is how I purchase most of my coins. At my age I'm working a lot and trying to save money to buy a home and buy a coin here and there. I always look at coins with trueview such as this lincoln cuz it really shows it's smooth surface texture and eye appeal. either though it doesn't have a "registry score" it will sure compete with other ms67's for the date/mint.
Another coin "won" on ebay. This pretty lemon toned nickel graded ms66 by ANACS was sure to cross into its new pcgs ms66 holder.
Paid a small premium for the color and original skin in a rattler holder which to me looks conservatively graded

This is the first coin I submitted to PCGS (or any tpg). It was against the advice from the dealer i bought it from, who at the time explained "despite it being a nice 1951 proof quater it just isnt worth enough for encapsulation" but curiosity got the best of me. I paid the $40 grading fee (+ the cost of the quater $40) and when it came back in a pf65 holder, I understood why I should have taken the dealers advice. Live and learn.
Paid almost 3x its value for the original toning ( or market acceptable toning). Like most of my coins in this set this peace dollar isn't going to get me a high registry placement. What I try to show is that quality coins can be found by average joes and one doesn't have to pay moon money to acquire original coins. This peace fits the bill for sure.
My first time attending a major coin show (Long Beach show) and I was in heaven. My girl friend surprised me and took me for my 35th birthday. I had a raw 1893 s gold half eagle plus a little cash to trade for this lovely graded MS63 example for the liberty half eagle mint set I'm slowly putting together. (so slow it's almost unbearable since I'm so picky as I learn more about this wonderful hobby).
