Self-Submitted, Apr 2016. Toning out to a golden brown with some of the original patina shining through. Overse: DEI GRATIA unreadable due to distortion. Reverse: Off Center, MAG Stop BR stop FRA runs off planchet, letters also very distorted, extra metal obliterates HIB. Rayner rated as Scarce.

From J & M Gold-N-Silver. A brilliant obverse portrait with even golden-brown toning. Reverse image is weaker with similar toning. Deformed lettering throughout the legend. Typical of the early milled period.

1683 3D S-3386 XF45 PCGS #140497

From J & M Gold-N-Silver. SPINK # 3386. The obverse has a deeper Grey-Gold-Brown toning and a weak portrait compared to wear of high points. Reverse has a distinctly flattened legend that seems larger than the obverse legend. Weak crown and monogram with production rub marks frequently seen with these.
