Bahá'u'lláh fulfills the prophecy of the Báb, the Prophet-Herald of the Bahá'í Faith, concerning "Him Whom God shall make manifest" (see comments for our 1844 coins). The Bahá'í Faith brings principles and practices that foster universal peace and unity amongst one human family, all nations, and all religions.

“The earth is but one country and mankind its citizens.”

Bahá'u'lláh, with great clarity and emphasis, states He fulfills the promises and prophecies of every major religion, including the "return" each faith is expecting: for Christians, Christ; for Jews, the Lord of Hosts; to Shi'ah Islám the return of the 12th Imám; to Sunni Islám the descent of the "Spirit of God" (Jesus Christ); for Buddhists, the 5th Buddha of Universal Fellowship; for Hindus, the 10th Avatar, the reincarnation of Krishna; for Zoroastrians the promised Sháh Bahrám.

The time of "God's Kingdom on earth, goodwill and peace toward all" has begun, although as it has always been the case, the Divine Messengers bring ‘DIY blueprints’, not ‘magic and miracles’ where humanity merely watches instead of acts.

It is a claim worth investigating and teachings worth learning. Scholars trace Bahá'u'lláh's ancestry back to Abraham through Abraham's wife Keturah, to Zoroaster, to Yazdgerd III, the last king of the Sassanid Empire, and also to Jesse, father of King David.

Regarding the coin, it was also 'born' at a special time!

In 1816 there was a major change in British coinage powered by the industrial revolution. The Royal Mint moved from the Tower of London to new premises on nearby Tower Hill, and acquired powerful new steam-driven coining presses supplied by James Watt, Mathew Boulton and Messr Rennie.

This coin was minted when pride was restored in British coin engraving, and the then-current lackluster designs were overhauled to herald such masterpieces as this. Renowned designer Benedetto Pistrucci (esp. famous for St. George slaying a dragon on reverse of the sovereign coin) created the portrait of King George III.
