1795 Liberty Cap Cent. S-76B. Rarity-1. Plain Edge. AU-53 (PCGS). Glossy chocolate brown surfaces make a lovely impression in all regards. Sharply defined from a well centered strike, smooth and inviting surfaces further enhance the appeal of this exceptional piece. S-76B is a plentiful variety in an absolute sense, to be sure, but the Liberty Cap cent as a type is conditionally challenging and seldom offered with the quality and eye appeal offered here. Provenance: From the Dr. Gordon Shaw Collection. From Steve Ivy's 1982 ANA Auction, lot 48
