2008-W Gold Eagle Jackson's Liberty MS70 { PCGS-4 }. Jackson's wife Rachel died shortly after his election to president; but before he took office. This Liberty Capped Bust was common for US Coins during his tenure in the White House. Old Hickory is shown in profile on a horse on the reverse.

She is said to have been devastated when her husband chose not to run for a third term, having thoroughly enjoyed her time in the White House. Although one on the lesser known First Ladies, Lou had an impressive list of accomplishments; including being the first (only) First Lady to learn to speak Chinese (fluently) and was the first to address the nation over the radio. * Number 99 in Ron Guth's book "100 Greatest Women in Coins".
