关于此套币:
INCONSISTENT SHOWCASE..... 15 OF THESE COINS WERE PURCHASED FROM HA BACK IN JAN 2010. THEY ARE MOSTLY AU58 WHICH IF CRACKED OUT AND REGRADED TODAY WOULD MOST LIKELY ALL BE GRADED MINT STATE BY PCGS... YES, IN MY HUMBLE OPINION, COINS ON PAR WITH THESE GRADED COINS ARE TODAY "PUSHED" AND GRADED MINT STATE; IN SOME CASES AS HIGH AS 4 GRADE POINTS HIGHER. SURE, MOST ARE MORE THAN HAPPY TO RECEIVE A COIN BACK FROM GRADING WHICH NOW HAS AUTOMATICALLY BECOME MORE VALUABLE $$$$$. WHO WOULD DECLINE SUCH AN OPPORTUNITY!?? WHAT BASIS YOU MAY ASK DO I HAVE FOR MAKING SUCH A BOLD STATEMENT? I BELIEVE MOST WOULD ADMIT "GRADEFLATION" HAS BEEN WITH US FOR DECADES SO THIS IS NOTHING NEW, BUT A COIN IS EITHER UNCIRCULATED OR NOT! THERE CERTAILY SHOULD BE NO DEBATE ON THIS, BUT.... SECOND, I'VE SENT IN DOZENS AND DOZENS (OVER ONE HUNDRED) CANADIAN LARGE CENTS FOR PCGS CERTIFICATION IN THE PAST MONTHS, AND METICULUOSLY CHOOSE COINS THAT WERE WHAT I WOULD CALL CHOICE TO GEM AU58 COINS. SURE, SOME OF THESE COINS WERE PROBABLY NICE BROWN UNCS, BUT PLACED THEM INTO THE MIX JUST TO SEE WHAT HAPPENED? COINS WITH SUPERB EYE APPEAL, BUT WITH JUST A HINT OF "RUB"; COINS LIKE THE ORIGINAL 15 COINS THAT STARTED THIS SET WHEN PURCHASED FROM HA BACK IN JAN 2010... BACK TO THE "BASIS" FOR THIS INCONSISTENT SHOWCASE TITTLE... WHY DO I THINK I KNOW SO MUCH!? FIRST, HAVING BEEN INVOLVED WITH COINS ON BOTH SIDES OF THE COUNTER FOR OVER 60 YEARS GIVES ME SOME CREDIBILITY... ADDITIONALLY, HAVING PUT TOGETHER THE FIRST ALL PCGS AU58 SET OF INDIAN CENTS WITH MAJOR VARIETIES DECADES AGO; THIS BEFORE THE EVERYIMAN SETS WERE IN VOGUE. THIS SET WAS THE PRODUCT OF 30 YEARS IN THE MAKING, WAS COMPLETE AND HAD 66 GREEN CAC STICKERS AND WAS SOLD INDIVIVUALLY AT THE CENTRAL STATES HA AUCTION IN 2013 UNDER THE TITTLE "THE MALIBOU LAKE COLLECTION". OBVIOUSLY, I HAVE SOME HISTORY WITH THE GRADE AU58 AND BELIEVE I STILL HAVE A KEEN EYE FOR SUCH!
IF YOU'VE READ THIS FAR, YOU REALIZE; THE WRITER IS NOT HAPPY. CORRECT... PCGS NEEDS TO GET WITH THE PROGRAM! I DO NOT HAVE DLH's MONEY OR WONDER COINS TO JUMP SHIP, BUT I CERTAINLY HAVE ENOUGH FRIENDS IN THE TRADE WHO REALIZE WHAT IS RIGHT AND WHAT ISN'T.....

The varieties are what makes this set interesting, competitive, and hard to complete. For those that do not wish to chase the tough ones, there is the Victorian Cent Basic Set.
Got cut off due to no more data room! Please drop me an Email [email protected]
Mount Desert,
Thank you for the information! Your user name sounds familiar so looked up your sets and you have been doing this for a few days!! I appreciate someone with your expertise taking the time; this is what the hobby is all about...
One came through a Canadian auction in an ICCS holder a few months ago. As I said, very scarce, not impossible.
The 1858 FV, 15 stems is a very scarce, but not rare coin. It only came to light about ten years ago when it was published in Charlton. The issue is not that they cannot be found, it is that not many have been submitted to PCGS.
