A Baker's Dozen (Plus!) of ORIGINAL Circulated Silver Coins & One Mint State Piece
描述:
Mid-grade circulated silver coins age and tone in myriad ways. They might have dirt embedded in their devices, be worn to a smooth dove grey, take on cinnamon cameo highlights and/or have original mint frost glisten from beneath the acquired patina. However, a coin with unadulterated skin will rarely, if ever, be pasty white in mid-grades or "blast white" in higher circulated (AU) grades. Unfortunately, what I have seen throughout my time in numismatics is an avalanche of processed silver coinage and these coins have been offered "raw" and in certified TPG holders. If one wants a processed coin then one should buy an example, but if one would rather purchase a coin without evidence of surface manipulation then an ability to read the fabric of the surfaces is imperative. In this album are a group of coins that, through serendipity, escaped the dip jar, the eraser, the wipe cloth and the chemistry set. Enjoy and realize that there are other examples of original coins that are not shown in this album.
