Fifty Nifty Clad Statehood + The 6 Clad Territory Quarters

The territory quarters are listed in the order of when the land was acquired. The ground that the District of Columbia is on was part of the original lands of the US (1776 was our Declaration of Independence and 1783 was the Treaty of Paris). Guam and Puerto Rico were formally acquired in April of 1899 (after the Spanish-American War). American Samoa was acquired in December of 1899 due to the Partition of Samoa. The US Virgin Islands were acquired from Denmark in March of 1917.

The Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands was first administered by the United States (as part of the United Nations Trust Territory of the Pacific Islands ) in July of 1947. The Northern Mariana Islands became a part of the United States as a Commonwealth in January of 1978.
