1984-D Gold Eagle PR70DCAM: Olympic { PCGS-4 } (Oct'2017) Mintage: 34,533 (proof) Perfection in strike, color, luster and overall appearance, this piece commemorates the second time that the Olympics were hosted by Los Angeles. At the time, I lived and commuted in Los Angeles. The traffic jams that everyone feared never materialized, as many of the locals left town. For those that remained, commute times were often cut by 30% or more!

2014-P Silver Dollar PR70DCAM: Baseball Hall of Fame { PCGS-4+ } First Strike (Jun'2014) Mintage: 262,091 (proof) For the first time, the same design is used on all denominations for a commemorative series; and, a unique design it is. Featuring the first "curved" coins produced by the mint, the ball on the reverse is a dome extending well beyond the thickness of the coin edge; while, the glove on the obverse has an actual pocket extending into the coin. The highly frosted devices combined with the 3-D effects of this unusual design give the illusion of an actual baseball and glove on this "Sold Out" series.

2014-W 5 Gold Half Eagle PR70DCAM: Baseball Hall of Fame { PCGS-4+ } (Jul'2014) Mintage: ~32,000 (proof) The novelty of this "high relief" alternative is made possible by the design of two complimentary elements: The concave baseball glove on the obverse and the symmetrically round convex baseball on the reverse. The devices are masterfully rendered, and surprisingly, all denominations featured ample perfect examples. If you liked the baseball design on the reverse in 1997, you'll probably agree that this gold design really pops!
