关于此套币: Wow, what a fantastic set of coins. I am currently a sophomore at the University of California at Santa Barbara, and have been engrossed in the study of numismatics since the age of 5. In 2007 (when I was 15 years old), at the start of this series, I started screening tens of thousands of Presidential Dollars in search of the finest specimens. Nearly all of the coins in this set are “homemade,” and are the product of hard work and perseverance. My father, sister Lauren, and I screened roughly 20,000 John Adams coins to find the first Adams Dollar worthy of PCGS’s golden seal of approval as an MS67 in both position A and B of both the Philadelphia and Denver mint examples. My sister Lauren is a rising star in the numismatic field uncovering "top pop" business strike coins in both this series and a number of other modern coin series. I thank her for locating my pop 1 Andrew Jackson specimen, as well as my pop 1 James K Polk! It took over a year of unending searches to locate the first Andrew Jackson Denver mint MS67 coins ever graded at PCGS (i.e. in position A and position B). My sister's searches yielded all 4 coins that have achieved MS67 to date (including that pop 1). I set a goal with my Dad at the start of this series; to create the finest known set of business strike Presidential Dollar coins, in the highest possible grades we could attain. As this series moves deep into its fifth year, my interest and pursuit of this unique collection has not waned in the slightest. Now assimilated into the new world of UCSB, I plan to gear my studies around the skills necessary to advance my experience and knowledge of this truly inimitable field. I also plan to remain an avid participant in this series with all the fire of a young numismatist doing what he loves best. While my time is now divided between attending college classes, studying and obtaining the full college experience simply too far away from home to screen coins on a regular basis, Lauren is aiding me in the screening of the newly released presidents, honing her “eagle eye” and carrying the great weight of locating for me the very finest Presidential Dollars worthy of inclusion in my set (but I am back now during my Summer break screeing with a vengence to make up for lost time)! The relatively high mintage figures of these pieces do not reflect their true numismatic scarcity, especially high grade specimens. With the time and effort required to achieve highly graded specimens (e.g. Washington P, John Adams P and D, Andrew Jackson D, Monroe in MS68, Harrison in MS68, Polk, etc.), there is no doubt in my mind that these coins in "top pop" grade will become true modern “classics” in the years to come. Happy hunting everyone!
