Halfcrown, 1689. Conjoined bust right, rev. crowned shield, no frosting, pearls, edge PRIMO, (S-3434, ESC 835). Good original surfaces with minimal signs of haymarking or adjustment marks, slight friction to high points of faces, softness on the highest points of the hair and correspondingly on the Irish harp on the reverse, nevertheless a strong example and nearly extremely fine.
William III Halfcrown, 1700 DVODECIMO, First laureate and draped bust right, rev. modified large crowned shields cruciform (ESC 1043 (561); S-3494), some faint haymarking on obverse, nonetheless a well struck example with luster and attractive iridescent tone in peripheries, extremely fine or better.
Halfcrown, 1708, Post-Union. Draped bust left, rev. crowned cruciform shields, angles plain, edge SEPTIMO, (S.3604, ESC.1370). Some light haymarking (tin flecks) in the surface metal, attractive irridescent tone, and extremely fine. Purchased AMR Coins, 08-24-2021.
George II Halfcrown, 1741 over 39 DECIMO QVARTO, young laureate, draped and cuirassed bust left, rev. crowned shields cruciform, seven strings to harp, 15.07g, 7h (Bull 1682; ESC 601A; Adams 545; Spink 3693), a truly sublime example with only the faintest trace of die wear to highest points and a small die break through O of GEORGIVS, otherwise delightfully toned and handsomely balanced, lustrous and much as struck, rare thus. Purchased Spink 21006, July 7, 2021, Lot 346. Ex. Roderick Richardson - Choice BU (£5750). Conservatively graded MS 62 by PCGS.
Halfcrown, second issue, 1819, small laureate head right, rev. crowned shield in Garter (ESC 2102 (623); S.3789), lustrous with attractive golden tone around peripheries, virtually as struck, in NGC holder, graded MS62 (Cert. #4861254-008). Purchased Spink 19006, Lot 410 (Sept 2019). Crossed from NGC.
