A nice tuppence of Charles II. The obverse shows a copper-to-grey toning, with the lighter areas showing wear. The reverse is a deep copper-brown with hints of an aged rainbow toning still showing. The lettering suggests the die was rusting while showing the same garbled lettering that the milled process is well-known for.
Self Submitted - May 2008. Rayner rated as Normal - neither scarce or common. Obverse has a distinct hash mark after the full stop/period that follows the II. Reverse under a scope, reveals a faint "B" protruding from the bottom left "B" of HIB.
