German Third Reich 5 Reichspfennig Basic Set, Circulation Strikes (1936-1939)

In 1936, Germany began phasing in a new 5 Pfennig coin to replace the old Weimar coinage. The new 5 pfennig featured a German eagle holding a wreath within which was a swastika. However, this type was cut short by World War II, when the brass that was used to make these coins was diverted to the war effort. There are no rarities in this series, although the 1936 issues can be hard to find in Uncirculated condition.
