This set attempts to showcase the timeless beauty of Augustus Saint-Gaudens' vision with circulated coins.
Saints are scarce to rare in circulated grades except for a few issues such as the high reliefs, 1908-S, 1909/8, and 1925-S.
"Common" dates are very tough to find in AU holders because generic date Saints that come back in AU holders are often cracked out and sold raw.
Finding coins worthy of CAC verification is even more challenging as the pool is so small and many "sliders" have been messed with e.g. with putty / dental wax.
I have always assumed that this would never be an "all CAC" set, but at 34 of 38, it's close!
