Spencer Collection West German 5 Mark Proof Commemorative Set

关于此套币: The West German 5 Mark Commemorative Proof Set includes coins dated 1952 - 1986, with mint marks "A" for Berlin, "D" Munich, "F" Stuttgart, "G" Karlsruhe, and "J" Hamburg. This set contains diverse and historical people and subjects, and is particularly challenging to complete because the early date proofs were minted in very low mintages. For example, only 1,345 examples of the Proof 1952-D Nurnberg Museum Commemorative were minted, and only 1,217 of the Proof 1955-F von Schiller Commemorative were minted. These are considered the key dates to the collection, perhaps along with the 1955-G von Baden, and the 1957-J von Eichendorff proofs with mintages of 2,000 each. Contrast these mintages with later mintages of 250,000 to 350,000 proof examples, and you have a set with coin values ranging from $3,000.00 to $35.00. The Spencer Collection was fortunate to acquire the von Schiller and von Baden key date coins in high grade. This is a work in progress.
