The Valkyries Variety FB Mercury Dimes

关于此套币: In Norse legend, The Valkyries (Valkyrjur---"Choosers of the Fallen") were Odin's female helpers sent to Earth to predetermine the outcome of battles, select those who would be slain and, afterwards, transport the worthy to Valhalla. Their adventures and misadventures, kindnesses and (more often) cruelties are chronicled in the Eddas and sagas. Analogous female spirits appear in the lore of other Germanic (Idisi; Itis; Dísir), Icelandic (Landdísir) and Anglo Saxon (Wælcyrie) peoples. Decided to have a little fun and try to find descriptive names for my helmeted beauties (and Valkyries are often described in the texts as wearing helmets) from Norse (ON), Icelandic (OI), Anglo-Saxon/Old English (AS; OE), Middle English (ME) and Germanic (OG, Ger., Goth.) literature. If anyone spots a language or spelling error, by all means bring it to my attention!
