I added two coins this year. Amazing examples of toned Barber Halves. As I stated before I try not to buy white
DCAM's. Without them it is very hard to get to the top. One of the reason the Sher set is at the top is because he has more DCAM's. If you do not buy them it is impossible to get enough points to be number one.
I do have some white DCAM's but toned are my preference.
There was one amazing half that sold in January, a 1913 68 CAM. It was truly amazing. It sold for 42K.
I was the under bidder. The price seemed absurd and one must show restraint even when building top sets.
Laura bought it and I congratulate her and her customer. Great coin.
Of course all coins in this set are CAC. I cannot understand not buying 95% CAC coins. Why would someone want
a coin that has a CAC issue? Wait for something else. There is no shortage of nice coins!
CAC Complete Set of Barber Proof Halves!
I love Barber Halves. I believe this is the third highest set of all time. Without the pop bonuses Mr. Scher is 68.46 and the Pinnacle Set is 68.18. I cannot determine Mr. Simpson's non bonus score because you cannot see it unless a set is retired. However he was given 5 top pop bonuses and five ties.
I love this set but I am done trying to improve it, as I cannot compete with the new scoring changes. I also refuse to buy coins that are not at the top end of the grade score (CAC) just to own a higher grade. Barber halves that are at the top of the scale are hard to find and I am very picky. I prefer toned coins but DCAMS do help your score so I buy both and list the DCAMS for the most part in the registry.
I will continue to purchase top eye appeal Barber Halves in any grade. Feel free to email!

The colors on your 1912 must look awesome in hand with good natural lighting. Very nice set.
