关于此套币:
Assembled over a period of 15 years, the G B W Collection of Walking Liberty halves represents a commitment to the pursuit of perfection. While the set was started long before the PCGS Registry, this collector was, nonetheless, driven to find those coins that were finest known. In the late 80's and early 90's, census information for coins of this type was spotty at best, and by today’s standards relatively few coins had been graded.
To accomplish his goal, the collector sought coins that were free of marks, possessed full mint luster, and, insofar as the issues allowed, were sharply struck. The product of his endeavor is one of the most esteemed sets of twentieth century coins ever assembled. Every single coin grades MS66 and above -- the only collection of Walking Liberty halves to achieve such a feat. Ten coins are population one, being the sole example graded at their level with none higher, and 36 of the 65 coins in the set have populations under ten pieces.
Often when one talks about a collection of twentieth century coins, the discussion revolves around the key dates. In this series, there are two coins that are universally considered to be the keys in higher grades: the 1919-D and the 1921-S. When one examines the keys in the G B W collection, the magnitude of this set is put clearly into context. Both are graded MS66 by PCGS, and both are population one, with no examples having been graded higher. In this collection, the most challenging issues are unequaled and unsurpassed.
When the collection was brought to PCGS for reholdering and pedigree, David Hall, President of PCGS, remarked quite simply, “This is the most amazing set of twentieth century material that I have ever seen, and you can quote me on that.” The collector wishes to thank Pinnacle Rarities for their expertise and guidance throughout this project, from the acquisition of his first Walker (1946 PCGS MS67) to handling the liquidation of the completed set.

Wonderful collection! I truly admire what you have accomplished! After 40 some years of collecting I am returning to what I started with Liberty Walking Halves, the greatest 20th century design.
