Walking Liberty Half Dollars Early Date Set, Circulation Strikes (1916-1933)

While everyone has heard of the Walking Liberty "Short Set" from 1941-1947, or even the extended Short Set from 1933-1947, most of the rarities occurred in the earlier years of the series, notably in the late 1910s and early 1920s. This set focuses on the tougher, pre-1934 dates and includes some serious 20th century rarities. In particular, the 1919-D and 1921-S are prohibitively expensive in high grade but both the 1921 and 1921-D are major keys to this set as well. The skirt lines prior to 1921 were softly struck, so one should not expect the bold, deep strikes seen on the coins from the late 1930s and 1940s. This is a set for the true connoisseur of 20th century series coins.
