EX THE LARRY SHEPHERD COLLECTION, as noted on the label. PURPLE RAIN! The reverse color is so pronounced and vivid that PCGS slabbed the coin reverse side up so the beauty of the electric purple and magenta hues could be fully appreciated. The obverse is no slouch, the colors there are also electric purple, but this time the neon lime green and navy decided to join the dance and what a treat for the eyes to behold! Technically, the coin has one small mark at the junction of the neck which can be seen with strong magnification. Fully struck. All we can say is do yourself a favor and see this coin in hand, IT IS NOT TO BE MISSED!
Ex The Larry Shephard Collection. Fully struck chocolate brown surfaces reveal vivid red-orange, pink, and blue tints when light catches the mirrors.
With a mintage of 1,000 pieces struck in proof, this would already be a scarce coin. But the monster grade, deep toning, and CAC approval make this particular coin truly special.
Crossed over from NGC PR63 to PCGS PR65. 1873 10c NGC/CAC Proof 63 (No Arrows, Closed 3, OH, *Gold CAC*) The no-arrows proof of this year is underrated. From a mintage of 1,100 coins this select example earned a rare Gold CAC sticker. Gorgeous tints of blue, purple, and peachy-gold grace the bright, fully defined mirrors.

Stunning gem from a low proof mintage of just 813 coins. Rich jewel tones at the rims make for beautiful eye appeal! No discernable flaws.
Type one double date. From a low mintage of just 148,000 pieces, far fewer of which survive. A fantastic original with the typical weak reverse strike.
Reholdered from green label holder with low serial number so I could get true view pictures.
1865 $10 Ten Dollar, Judd-450, Pollock-522, High R.6, Upgraded from PR64 Brown PCGS green label holder. A "transitional" pattern that pairs the regular obverse die and the 1866 reverse die with the motto above the eagle. Struck in copper with a reeded edge. According to the USPatterns.com website: "These are believed to have been struck in 1865 although they may also have been restruck in the early 1870s. The first appearance of this design was in the April 1870 auction by John Haseltine of coins from the Idler collection." The Brown surfaces are light overall with a lovely iridescence across both sides. Ex: FUN Signature (Heritage, 1/1998), lot 8179. From The Estate of Charles W. Montgomery.

Only 500 proof coins were struck of this year and the business strikes are quite rare as well. Pretty rainbow tints, particularly on the reverse. PCGS has rightly granted their Plus Grade designation and CAC their seal of approval.

Gorgeous type coin with a mintage of 960 pieces struck in proof. Bright mirrors offer nice cameo contrast through the beautiful patina. Vivid aquamarine, violet, and rose bands frame golden central devices on both sides. The eye appeal is amazing! CAC

First year of issue with the prominent 8th tailfeather on the reverse. LIBERTY is boldly doubled to the east on every letter. The coin appears easily proof-like, though for some reason PCGS did not grant it the designation. CAC.
A beautiful toned, semi-prooflike super-gem with incredible eye appeal. NGC has rightfully granted their Star designation. VAM-85
