Tail Gunner Sam

关于此套币: My set name pays homage to my father, Samuel S. Schiera (1919-2005). My dad served as a tail gunner with a B-17 bomber crew in the European Theater of Operations (ETO) during WWII in the Fall and Winter of 1944 with the 15th U.S. Army Air Corps, 463rd Bomb Group, 5th Bomb Wing, based out of Foggia, Italy.
This set and all future sets I display here are dedicated to his memory, as well as to all those brave men who risked their lives on a daily basis over the skies of Europe to rid the world of the evil, tyranny and oppression of the Nazi regime.
