FS-501. The mintmark is repunched east. Autumn-gold and pearl-gray toning drape this satiny and splendidly unabraded near-Gem. A lovely early commemorative half that is considerably more appealing than the Choice grade might suggest.

1936-D 50C San Diego MS66 PCGS #9372

Heritage - Impressive mint luster swirls across the peach, cream-gray, and forest-green surfaces. The observation tower is not fully struck, but the remainder of the design is bold. Minor die doubling is noted on the obverse, visible on EVREKA and LIBERTY.

1852 1C Newcomb 12 MS62BN PCGS #147260

Large Cent 1852 N-12 PCGS 62 BN Jules Reiver Collection Nearly Choice brown mint luster. Well struck. Pleasing surfaces. This is the only and single finest coin certified as Newcomb 12 by PCGS. Former Jules Reiver collection. Reivers' collection was vast and well defined by die variety in early U.S. series coinage. Other than numismatics, Reivers' famous heroism in World War II at Omaha Beach on D-Day and action at The Battle of the Bulge inspired the role of Lt. Col. Kiley, played by Henry Fonda, in the famous movie. Reiver was the author of the first standard attribution guide for late date large cents, Mature Head United States Copper Cents 1843-1857, superseding by a long distance Frank Andrews' 1883 work on the subject.
