Doug Winter comments… “PCGS/CAC AU55 1855 $10 The 1855 is not the common date many collectors assume it is. It is not often seen in grades higher than AU58 and even less so with original color. This pleasing example has attractive deep natural color on both sides. No CAC approved PCGS AU55 has ever sold at auction. A PCGS/CAC AU58 brought $1,860 in 1/2019 while the last PCGS AU55 without CAC approval realized $1,375 in October 2020.
