1789-Mo FM 8 R Calico-950 CAROLUS IV AU58 PCGS #410557

Despite the death of Carlos III in December of 1788 and ascension of Carlos IV, Spanish colonies continued using the bust of Carlos III through 1789 and into 1790. This particular type is interesting as it shows the bust of Carlos III with the ordinal of his successor (and son).
A gorgeous, special coin with legitimate claims to UNC (ex-NGC MS62). The bust exhibits strike weakness, although most examples of this issue are more weakly struck than this. Incredibly mirrored obv exterior.
