Mexican 8 Reales Alamo Mint Basic Set, Circulation Strikes (1864-1895)

The Alamo Mint (no relation to the ill-fated mission in San Antonio) was located in the Mexican state of Sonora. The Alamo Mint was a late-comer to the striking of Cap and Rays 8 Reales, following the Durango, Guanajuato, and Mexico City Mints three decades later. The early dayes (1864, 1865, and 1866) are rare, but all of the subsequent dates are common and can usually be found in nice condition.
