RUSSIA - Catherine l (1725-1727) 1R 1725 : D-1663 and ? Sev-702 PCGS Fine Details (98-Damage) . So Called "Mourning Ruble" . This is characterized by a completely 360 degree circumferential obverse inscription, uninterrupted by and encircling the entire bust. Unverifiable initially by NGC. This was at the "Time of Suspicion or Uncertainty " in verifying Russian coins because of counterfeiting as the Russian economy improved with increasing demand for Russian coinage. This coin was finally authenticated and graded Fine Details by PCGS after I supplied documentation. I have a second Mourning Ruble graded VF by NGC as well.
