Rarity: Scarce

Variety Equivalents: Gilbert 1, Breen 3

Notes:
As with all 1793 Half Cent varieties, this is a relatively scarce one.  Most examples are circulated, they are all valuable, and finding a problem-free example is difficult.  At least six Mint State examples are known, the finest of which is the Gem Uncirculated PCGS MS65BN example from the Missouri Cabinet (illustrated above).  No Red-Brown or Red examples exist of the 1793 Cohen 3, though the Missouri Cabinet coin, with its traces of original mint red, comes very close.

The obverse die of this variety was also used on 1793 Cohen 4.

The reverse die of this variety was also used on 1793 Cohen 2.
