1794 C1b Liberty Cap half cent, Small Edge Letters, R6. This is the front-line example for the Furnace Run PCGS Registry Set of US half cents from 1793 to 1857 by Cohen Variety. This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as VF Details Excessive Corrosion. The details are certainly VF, very strong and very even on both sides. Not sure I would call this "excessive corrosion," but the surfaces are moderately and evenly granular throughout. Fortunately, all of the details remain quite bold and that includes the small edge lettering which is plainly visible thanks to the edgeview holder. Although this is a below average coin it is certainly NOT ugly and the color remains a decent medium brown with an even lighter shade on the right half of the obverse (MUCH lighter in person than in my photos). Appears to be M1.0 with no trace of the reverse bulge, but the surfaces make it impossible to be certain. Overall a decent variety of one of the rare "B-girl" varities.
