1794 C3a Liberty Cap half cent, Small Edge Letters, R5. This is the front-line example for the Furnace Run PCGS Registry Set of US half cents from 1793 to 1857 by Cohen Variety. This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as VG8, and it was not sent to CAC due to time constraints. Original soft medium brown color with some minor contact marks on each side. The marks are all in line with the grade and the most notable one is a tiny rim nick at the top of the reverse. The date is faint yet easily readable, and this is a very nice and completely original low-grade example of a tough variety. My EAC grade is G6+. Looks like M2.0 with faint bulge below bust right of 4 on obverse. Ex-Mark Palmer; Shawn A. Yancey #12125; Furnace Run Collection.
