1797 $1 10x6 Stars XF45 认证号11692123, PCGS号6865

This Draped Bust, Small Eagle Dollar is a BB-71, B-3, Large Letter reverse with 10 stars on the left and 6 on the right. (10X6) There are only three varieties for 1797, the others being BB-73, B-1, 9X7 with Lg. Letter rev. & BB-72, B-2, 9X7 with Small Letter rev., which is quite elusive. The total mintage for 1797 dollars is 7,776. The high wave of the hair is under the E. The lowest berry on the rev. is on the outside of the wreath. A small dot punctuates the date (17.97). Die lapping has removed the right edges of several palm leaves to erase clash marks. There are almost no noticeable marks. A residue of luster is present under traces of copper/gold and cobalt blue tone.

The obverse of all 1797 Silver Dollars contains 16 stars, representing the thirteen original colonies (now states), plus the new states that were added after the country was formed.  The stars appear in either of two formats: 10 on the left side and 6 on the right, or 9 on the left and 7 on the right.  Only one die variety (B-3, BB-71) comprises the entirety of the 10x6 format, and the 10x6 version is approximately twice as rare as the 9x7.
