1802/0 C2 Draped Bust half cent, Reverse of 1802, R3. This is the front-line example for the Furnace Run PCGS Registry Set of US half cents from 1793 to 1857 by Cohen Variety. This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as VG10, and also CAC-certified as CHOICE for the assigned grade. This coin was formerly in the Green Tree Collection, sold by Goldberg's in 2018, where it was described as: "1802/0 C-2 R3 Overdate 2 over 0, Reverse of 1803 PCGS graded VG10, CAC Approved. Glossy medium steel brown and light chocolate. Smooth and quite nice for the grade, essentially flawless, just worn. E-MDS, Manley state 2.0, but the reverse is rotated 30 degrees clockwise on this example. The date and legends are strong and the overdate feature is obvious to the unaided eye. A nice lower-grade example of this popular overdate variety. Our grade is VG7+. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. PCGS population 4; 10 finer for the variety." This coin sold for $1,880 in that auction and frankly this is the nicest low-grade 1802/0 half cent that I have seen.
