1803 C1 Draped Bust half cent, R1. This is the front-line example for the Furnace Run PCGS Registry Set of US half cents from 1793 to 1857 by Cohen Variety. This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as AU50, and it was not sent to CAC due to time constraints. This is a glossy, lustrous example with a mushy appearance due to the extremely late die state which has obliterated the denticles and weakened the rims. The only cool part of the M3.0 LDS is that all of the reverse cracks described in Manley are bold and fully-developed. 1803 half cents are extremely hard to find in this grade and higher, and this is certainly a suitable example.
