The 1803 Half Cent is a somewhat scarce date thanks to a relatively low mintage.  It is not nearly as rare as the 1802 or nearly as common as the 1804, but is more akin to the 1800 or the 1807.  Four die varieties comprise this date, only one of which is rare (Cohen 2).  High grade examples are rare, especially with enough original color to earn the Red & Brown designation.  Only a handful of Uncirculated examples are known and none are known in MS-65 or better.
