1804 C4 Draped Bust half cent, Crosslet 4 with Stems, R5. This is the front-line example for the Furnace Run PCGS Registry Set of US half cents from 1793 to 1857 by Cohen Variety. This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as VG Details, Scratch. This is actually F12 in terms of sharpness with original dark chocolate brown color and bold details on both sides. The scratch is a dull scuff behind the top of the head that does not disrupt the patina and is very easy to forgive. My EAC grade is F12 net VG8 and frankly I still consider this "Average" because the eye appeal is still so nice and original, and this variety usually comes ugly ugly.
