The 1827 JR-12 Dime is one of the most common varieties of the year and it is easily identified by examining the reverse, where the final A in AMERICA is joined to the arrowhead (the only variety where this occurs).  A fair number of Mint State examples are known, including at least three Gems.  Two, possibly three, Proofs are known of this variety, plus several pieces that are deceptively Prooflike, as well as frosty business strikes.  I have never seen an example without one or more weakly-struck stars -- this is characteristic of even the Proofs.
