1828 C1 Classic Head half cent, 13 Stars Obverse, R1. This is the front-line example for the Furnace Run PCGS Registry Set of US half cents from 1793 to 1857 by Cohen Variety. This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as MS62BN, and CAC-certified as CHOICE for the assigned grade! Gorgeous chestnut brown with steel brown undertones, bold luster, strong strike with full star centers and bold denticles, just a really pretty coin! This coin's last public appearance was Heritage 06/04/14 lot 7064 where it sold for $588. In that Heritage auction, the coin was NOT CAC-certified; but it is now and it certainly is deserving.
