1828 C3 Classic Head half cent, 13 Stars Obverse, R1. This is the front-line example for the Furnace Run PCGS Registry Set of US half cents from 1793 to 1857 by Cohen Variety. This coin has been authenticated and graded by PCGS as MS64+BN, and CAC-certified as CHOICE for the assigned grade! Outstanding overflowing luster on both sides mixed with subtle influences of gold and maroon toning. Wonderful eye appeal and hence the PCGS grade and the CAC sticker. Sharply struck yet a late die state M4.0 showing repolished dies on both sides, and with wreath spine from left point above HA much shorter than found in earlier die states.
