The 1828 Small Date Dime is a great "eyeball" variety.  On first impression, the date is clearly small, and since there is only one die variety that qualifies as a Small Date, it is easy to distinguish from the Large Date varieties not only because of the size of the date, but because of the flat base of the 2 and the way in which the serif of the base angles uop sharply.  The 1828 Small Date Dime is common in most grades, but semi-scarce in Unc.  Most Mint State examples are only MS62 to MS63, though there are a few Gems.  The best example, by far, is a single PCGS MS67.
