Although its mintage is somewhat higher than that of the 1840, the 1841 is of virtually the same rarity. It is obtainable in VF or EF but specimens better than that are very rare. Two or three uncirculated specimens are known or reported but none are particularly choice. The Alto-Dunham example is the finest to appear at auction and is quite possibly the finest known.
