The Proof 1848 Seated Liberty Half Dollar is very rare. An example appears very seldom in the market. Going back to 1941, we only have about 13 records of it ever being sold at auction. Collectors should not be picky when attempting to obtain an example of this date, as it might be a very long time before they get the opportunity to buy one.
