The 1852-O Half Dime has the second smallest mintage of any New Orleans Half Dime from the 1850s (the rarest is the 1853 No Arrows Half Dime).  Overall, this date is hard to locate in any grade, especially in Mint State, where the typical grade is MS64.  Gem examples are super-rare, and the finest example is a stand-out PCGS MS66+.  Fully struck 1852-O Half Dimes are essentially unknown; most show weakness on the denticles, one or more of the stars, and on the high points of the wreath.
