The mintage of the 1855 Half Dime dropped significantly from that of the previous two years, but it was still large enough that this date carries only a very small premium over the normal type. Dozens are known in MS63, MS64, and MS65, with the highest concentrations appearing in MS64. MS66 examples are very rare (to the tune of half a dozen examples) and none have been certified finer by PCGS.
Clashed dies, weak denticles, and striated planchets are typical of this date, and fully struck examples are truly scarce, if they exist at all.
