Just 40,430 minted and CAC approved. Uniform medium steel brown and light chocolate. The solidly struck surfaces are covered with a thin layer of natural oxidation that hides the underlying luster. A scarce EDS (Early Die State), Manley state 1.0. The tiny dash off the right top of the 6 is sharp and a clearly defined lump shows on the upright of the I in UNITED. There is no die line at the leaf under ES in STATES. The attribution and Green Tree Collection provenance are noted on the PCGS label. Ex Heritage Auctions 3/25/2010. Very tough to find in GEM (MS65) condition, especially with a CAC seal (2nd toughest behind the 1850 and tied with the 1849).
