Judd 2007 is a pattern for a one-cent piece issued in 1858 in copper. They are tied by design to the 12-pieces sets of copper-nickel cent patterns offered by the Mint in 1858. The sets were made up of a combination of three different obverse designs mixed with four different reverse designs, plus a regular issue Proof. Some of the designs were made in other metals, including copper (like this one) or nickel. Judd 207 is the so-called "Hook-neck Eagle" design; the reverse is the normal reverse seen on regular Proof 1858 Cents. As the copper version, Judd 207 is much rarer than the copper-nickel variant and, presumably, would have been sold or traded out as an individual coin. Both thick and thin planchet versions are known.
