Judd-217a is a die trial in Nickel or German Silver of the 1858 Small Letters Flying Eagle Cent.  Saul Teichman (at uspatterns.com) suggests that as many as four or five are known, but we suspect the number is smaller.  We've seen and graded the Eliasberg coin, which is now in the Simpson Collection.  The weakness on the high points of the Eliasberg example are the result of either the hardness of the metal, weak pressure, the dies being too far apart, or some combination of all of the above.
